Thomas is a Brisbane hipster, but he spends his days on the Gold Coast. He has an unhealthy interest in US politics and is learning software programming in his spare time. His preferred sport is indoor rock climbing. Despite the valiant efforts of many clients, he still doesn’t know anything about football.
Thomas manages high-value small-to-medium sized business clients, ensuring that all their business and personal legal needs are met by our team.
Thomas also works closely with all our commercial clients, providing detailed advice specific to their business in areas such as asset protection, structuring, tax, commercial contracts, and business and property transactions. However, not everything fits neatly into those categories – so he also handles the weird stuff!
In 2016, Thomas led the due diligence work for Simpro Software, which resulted in a successful $30 million USD capital investment from a US venture capital fund.
Thomas focusses on understanding how his clients’ businesses work, so he can find practical solutions that make sense for their industry – not just the textbook legal answer. He aims to become an integral part of his clients’ companies to help them grow and achieve their goals in business.
Thomas joined McKays Solicitors as a personal assistant in the Mackay office. He later relocated to Brisbane to continue his studies at the University of Queensland. Thomas continued working as a law clerk until he graduated, and then joined our team as a full-time solicitor.
Thomas is an integral member of our McKays Gold Coast team and a founding member of the current Gold Coast firm.
